TFC Toys Hades: Aiakos

Aiakos is the final member of the Hades squad to get the spotlight, and as the Gaihawk impersonator, it is a fitting end to the set. A remold of the outstanding Minos, Aiakos brings back all of the excellent aspects of that figure and fixes one incredible drawback.

TFC Toys Ares: Phobos

Phobos, the son of Ares and the personification of fear, is the fifth and final member of the Ares team, and is the TFC Toys version of G1 Predacon Divebomb. The figure appears to be the same base mold as Phlogeus, which is pretty amazing given that figures’ more slender and lithe appearance compared to the stockier, thicker Phobos.

Star Wars: The Black Series HASCON Exclusive Captain Rex

The retail version of this figure is set to release soon, as etailers have begun soliciting preorders, and enough time has passed since the institution of the The Last Jedi Star Wars gag order, so let’s have a look at the HASCON exclusive Captain Rex.

Transformers: Power of the Primes Dreadwind

Power of the Primes Dreadwind is a pretty extensive reworking of the Combiner Wars Sky Dive figure, which has never been featured on this blog by itself, but is a part of the G2 Superion boxed set, the Unite Warriors Grand Galvatron boxed set (as the Ghost of Starscream), and the Platinum Edition Liokaiser boxed set, as Fellbat. After so many reuses as different, remolded characters, it seems fitting that the mold pulls a Titans Return Chromedome and is employed yet again at the start of a new, different toy line.

Grave Considerations: It’s Not Me, It’s You

2018 has dawned, and brought with it new beginnings as well as more of the same. My wife and I spent almost two weeks in Munich, Germany on vacation, and during that time away from home and the general goings-on of the world, I got some time to do some thinking about the direction of things. Important things that often get drown out by the demands of work and all the hustle and bustle: the direction of the Coffin, and general matters about my collection.

TFC Toys Hercules: Mad Blender

Mad Blender is an interesting figure. The Mixmaster and final entry in TFC Toys’ Hercules group, Mad Blender is, on the surface at least, an amalgam of Structor and Dr. Crank, and as both of those are good figures, Mad Blender should be as well.

Not that this article wants to get started with a “should,” but it does, in the least sinister way imaginable. Mad Blender is a good figure, no doubt, but depending on how you look at it, it’s also a little bland.

FansProject Saurus: Dinoroku

Here I sit at 5.22AM, the second day back from our European vacation, apparently at the point in jetlag where time means nothing, and I fall asleep at 8PM and awake at 4 AM. Maybe some writing will help me out, or at least, help me get my brains back in working order.

Dinoroku is the FansProject take on Victory’s Dinoforce commander Goryu, and is the final entry in the Saurus team. Dinoroku is a green reworking of the previous figure, Dinogo, but despite its being just a repaint, it is remarkably different in the details.
